Dienogest 2 mg + Ethinylestradiol 0.03 mg is a combined oral contraceptive pill that suppresses ovulation to prevent pregnancy and treats moderate acne in women. It also treats conditions like hirsutism, often in a 24/4 or 21/7 regimen. Key side effects include breast pain, headache, and nausea, with a, potential for venous thromboembolism (VTE).
Primary Uses
- Contraception: Highly effective at preventing pregnancy by suppressing ovulation and altering cervical mucus.
- Acne Treatment: Specifically used as a "second-line" option for moderate acne when topical treatments or antibiotics have failed.
