Description
Polymer Adult Hypertonic Nasal Spray is a preservative-free hypertonic seawater nasal spray designed for nasal irrigation, nasal hygiene, and symptomatic relief of nasal congestion in adults. The formulation contains sterile hypertonic seawater (approximately 3% sodium chloride) and works through a natural osmotic mechanism that reduces nasal mucosal edema, decreases mucus viscosity, and facilitates mucus clearance from the nasal cavity. The spray is intended as a non-medicated mechanical decongestant and may be used alone or as an adjunct to other intranasal therapies.

Composition

• Hypertonic sterile seawater solution
• Sodium chloride concentration: approximately 3%
• Natural marine mineral salts and trace elements
• Preservative-free formulation
• Drug-free formulation

Mechanism of Action
Hypertonic saline contains a salt concentration greater than physiologic saline (0.9% sodium chloride). Upon contact with the nasal mucosa, the hypertonic environment induces osmotic movement of water out of swollen mucosal tissues, leading to:

• Reduction of mucosal edema
• Liquefaction of thick mucus secretions
• Improved mucociliary clearance
• Removal of allergens, pollutants, pathogens, and crusts
• Improved nasal airflow and breathing comfort

Indications
Polymer Adult may be used for:

• Nasal congestion associated with common cold
• Acute and chronic rhinosinusitis
• Allergic rhinitis
• Sinus pressure and excessive mucus accumulation
• Regular nasal hygiene
• Post-operative nasal cleansing after nasal or sinus procedures
• Adjunctive therapy before administration of intranasal medications

Dosage and Administration
Recommended administration:

• 1–3 sprays into each nostril
• 2–3 times daily or according to physician recommendation

Administration instructions:

1. Blow the nose gently before use.
2. Insert the nozzle into one nostril.
3. Spray while inhaling gently.
4. Repeat for the opposite nostril.
5. Clean the applicator after use.

Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation
• Avoid use in patients with severe nasal trauma unless medically advised

Adverse Effects
Hypertonic saline nasal sprays are generally well tolerated. Possible mild effects include:
