Prednisolone acetate 10 mg/mL (1%) sterile ophthalmic suspension is a prescription topical corticosteroid used to treat eye inflammation, redness, and swelling caused by allergies, injury, or surgery. It works by inhibiting inflammatory mediators and is typically administered as 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) 2-4 times daily.

Purpose: Relieves non-infectious inflammation from allergies, injuries, or surgery.
Form: A "suspension," meaning it contains tiny particles that settle and must be mixed before use.

How to Use?

Shake Well: Always shake the bottle vigorously before each use to ensure the medicine is properly mixed.
Usage: Administer the medication as directed by your healthcare provider.
Application:
- Wash hands thoroughly.
- Pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
- Squeeze the drop into this pocket without touching the dropper to your eye or any surface.
- Close your eye and press gently on the inner corner (near the nose) to help the medication stay in the eye.
Wait: If using other eye drops, wait several minutes between different medications.

Side Effects

Common: Temporary stinging, burning, or blurred vision immediately after application.
Serious (with long-term use): Increased eye pressure (glaucoma), cataracts, or delayed healing.
Signs of Infection: New or worsening redness, pain, or discharge.
