Bevacizumab Injection

Bevacizumab is an anti-cancer medicine used together with other treatments for several advanced or recurrent cancers, including:

• Metastatic colon or rectal cancer
• Non-small cell lung cancer
• Recurrent glioblastoma (brain tumor)
• Metastatic kidney cancer
• Cervical cancer
• Ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers
• Advanced or unresectable liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma)

How It Works?

Bevacizumab works by blocking the growth of blood vessels that supply tumors with oxygen and nutrients. This helps slow or stop cancer growth.

Administration

• Given by intravenous (IV) infusion in a hospital or clinic.
• Usually administered every 2–3 weeks.
• Infusion may take 30–90 minutes.
• Often used in combination with other chemotherapy or immunotherapy medicines.

►Important Precautions

Pregnancy & Fertility

• Can seriously harm an unborn baby.
• Effective birth control is required during treatment and for at least 6 months after the last dose.
• May affect fertility or cause ovarian failure in some women.

Surgery & Wound Healing

• May delay wound healing.
• Treatment is usually stopped before and after surgery until healing is adequate.

Blood Pressure Monitoring

• Can cause high blood pressure.
• Regular blood pressure monitoring may be required.

Increased Risk of Serious Complications

This medicine may increase the risk of:

• Bleeding problems
• Blood clots
• Stroke or heart problems
• Serious infections
• Kidney problems
• Gastrointestinal perforation (tear in stomach or bowel)
• Fistulas (abnormal openings between organs)

Avoid Live Vaccines

Live vaccines should generally be avoided during treatment unless approved by a healthcare provider.

• Coughing up blood
• Unusual bleeding or bruising
• Severe headache, seizures, or confusion
