Tofacitinib (oral route)

What is Tofacitinib?

Tofacitinib is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor used to treat autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, including:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Psoriatic arthritis
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Ankylosing spondylitis
  • Polyarticular course juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pcJIA)

It may be used alone or together with other DMARDs when previous treatments, such as methotrexate, were not effective.
