PANTOGAR ® FOR HAIR AND NAILS DIETARY SUPPLEMENT 60 CAPSULES
PANTOGAR® Dietary Supplement – Medical Description
Pantogar Hard Gelatin Capsules are an oral dietary supplement formulated to provide a combination of B-group vitamins, sulfur-containing amino acid components, keratin, and yeast-derived ingredients that support normal nutritional requirements relevant to hair structure and growth.
Each capsule contains:
| Ingredient | Amount per capsule | Nutritional/physiological role |
|---|---|---|
| Thiamine (Vitamin B1) | 48.6 mg | Supports normal carbohydrate and energy metabolism and the function of cells that depend on energy production. |
| Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) | 55 mg | Essential for coenzyme A metabolism and the synthesis and breakdown of fatty acids. |
| Auxoferm Yeast Powder (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) | 100 mg | Provides a yeast-derived nutritional ingredient; the label specifies S. cerevisiae as its source. |
| L-Cystine | 20 mg | Sulfur-containing amino-acid component associated with the formation of keratin and structural proteins. |
| Keratin | 20 mg | Structural protein naturally found in hair and other keratinized tissues. |
| p-Aminobenzoic Acid (PABA) | 20 mg | Included as a nutritional ingredient; no established Daily Value is listed on the supplied label. |
Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, talc, magnesium stearate, povidone, colloidal silicon dioxide.
Serving size: 1 capsule. Servings per container: 90.
Medical & Nutritional Role
1. Hair structural support
Hair is primarily composed of keratin, a protein whose strength and structure are influenced by sulfur-containing amino-acid residues. Cysteine/cystine contributes to disulfide bonds that help provide keratin with structural strength.
The combination of L-cystine and keratin therefore provides nutritional components relevant to normal hair structure. However, this does not mean that orally consumed keratin is directly incorporated into hair or that the supplement can correct every type of hair loss.
2. Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)
Thiamine is an essential water-soluble B vitamin involved in converting nutrients into usable energy. It is particularly important for normal cellular metabolism.
The supplied label provides 48.6 mg of thiamine per capsule, which is substantially higher than the adult daily requirement. A high dose should therefore be considered a supplemental amount rather than an indication that everyone requires this quantity.
3. Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid)
Pantothenic acid is required for the synthesis of coenzyme A (CoA) and participates in numerous metabolic processes, including fatty-acid synthesis and breakdown. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements lists 5 mg/day as the adequate intake for adults, while the product label supplies 55 mg per capsule.
4. L-Cystine and hair
L-cystine has been investigated as part of nutritional formulations intended to support hair growth and hair quality. Clinical studies of multi-ingredient nutritional supplements containing cystine and other nutrients have reported improvements in some forms of diffuse hair loss; however, results from combination products cannot necessarily be attributed to cystine alone.
A systematic review of nutritional interventions for hair loss also found that some nutritional supplements, including formulations containing Pantogar, showed potential benefits, while emphasizing that the evidence varies among products and conditions.
Potential Uses
Pantogar may be positioned as a nutritional supplement for supporting normal hair structure and nutritional needs, particularly in situations where dietary intake may be inadequate.
Potential supportive applications include:
- Supporting normal hair structure and strength.
- Providing nutrients involved in normal cellular and energy metabolism.
- Supplying L-cystine and keratin, structural components relevant to keratinized tissues.
- Supporting nutritional intake during periods of increased nutritional demand.
- Providing supplemental B vitamins as part of a balanced nutritional regimen.
Important: Hair loss has many possible causes, including nutritional deficiencies, thyroid disorders, hormonal conditions, hereditary hair loss, inflammatory scalp disorders, medications, and physical or psychological stress. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends determining the underlying cause rather than assuming that a hair supplement will address the problem.
Evidence Regarding Hair Loss
There is some clinical evidence supporting nutritional formulations containing cystine, B vitamins and other nutrients in certain types of diffuse hair loss. For example, a controlled study evaluated a supplement containing calcium pantothenate, cystine, thiamine, medicinal yeast, keratin and aminobenzoic acid—the same general ingredient combination represented on the supplied Pantogar label—and investigated its use in telogen effluvium.
More recent research has also reported potential benefits from certain multi-ingredient supplements containing L-cystine and pantothenic acid. Nevertheless, these studies evaluate specific formulations, and they should not be interpreted as proof that every individual ingredient independently prevents or treats hair loss.
Recommended Use
Follow the dosage stated on the product packaging or the recommendation of a qualified healthcare professional.
Because the supplied image establishes the composition and serving size of one capsule, but does not provide complete dosing instructions, a specific therapeutic dosing regimen should not be inferred solely from the nutrition panel.
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake unless specifically advised by a healthcare professional.
Precautions & Safety
- Dietary supplements should not be used as a replacement for a balanced diet or medically indicated treatment.
- Individuals taking prescription or over-the-counter medicines should inform their healthcare professional about all supplements they use because supplements can sometimes interact with medicines.
- Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have chronic medical conditions, or are considering use in children should seek professional medical advice before supplementation.
- If hair shedding is persistent, sudden, severe, associated with scalp inflammation, or accompanied by other symptoms, medical evaluation is recommended.
- Excessive supplementation with certain nutrients can be counterproductive; the American Academy of Dermatology specifically cautions that taking unnecessary amounts of some nutrients may worsen hair loss.
- Discontinue use and seek medical advice if significant intolerance or an allergic reaction occurs.
Important Medical Disclaimer
Pantogar is a dietary supplement, not a medicine for the diagnosis or treatment of hair-loss disorders. Although nutritional supplementation may be useful when an actual nutritional inadequacy contributes to hair problems, not all hair loss is caused by nutritional deficiency.
The U.S. FDA states that dietary supplements are not FDA-approved to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Supplement claims should therefore not be interpreted as evidence that a product can treat a specific medical condition.

Do not use this information to self-diagnose or self-treat persistent hair loss. Individual results may vary. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, take medications, or experience unexplained hair loss, consult a healthcare professional before using dietary supplements.
