Dosage form: Adult oral syrup, 120 mL

Active ingredient:

• Carbocisteine: 250 mg/5 mL

Pharmacologic class: Mucolytic agent.

Description:
MUCOSOL Adult Syrup contains Carbocisteine, a mucolytic medication used in respiratory conditions associated with excessive, thick, or tenacious mucus secretions. Carbocisteine helps alter the structure and composition of mucus, reducing its viscosity and elasticity and facilitating mucus clearance from the respiratory tract. By improving expectoration, it may help relieve chest congestion and support airway clearance in productive cough conditions. Carbocisteine has been used in acute and chronic respiratory diseases characterized by mucus hypersecretion.

Therapeutic uses:

• Productive cough associated with thick mucus
• Acute bronchitis
• Chronic bronchitis
• Chronic respiratory disorders with mucus retention
• Conditions with excessive bronchial secretion and difficult mucus expectoration
• Adjunctive treatment in chronic obstructive respiratory diseases

Mechanism of action:

• Mucolytic activity: Reduces mucus thickness and viscosity.
