STOPADOL COLD MAX FOR COMMON COLD & COUGH 20 FILM-COATED TABLETS

Stopadol Cold Max is a multi-component cold and flu preparation with analgesic/ antipyretic, antihistaminic, antitussive and nasal decongestant effects.

Mechanism of Action

Paracetamol: Inhibits central prostaglandin synthesis → reduces fever and pain
Chlorpheniramine: Blocks H1 histamine receptors → reduces allergic symptoms (runny nose, sneezing)
Dextromethorphan: Acts on the cough center in the medulla → suppresses dry cough
Phenylephrine: Stimulates α1-adrenergic receptors → causes vasoconstriction → relieves nasal congestion

Indicated for symptomatic relief of:

Fever and headache
Dry cough
Nasal congestion
Rhinorrhea (runny nose)
Sneezing associated with upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., common cold, influenza)

Ingredients:

Each tablet contains:

Paracetamol – 650 mg
Chlorpheniramine maleate – 4 mg
Dextromethorphan hydrobromide – 20 mg
Phenylephrine hydrochloride – 10 mg

Safety Profile & Side Effects

Possible adverse effects include:

Sedation or drowsiness (from antihistamine)
Dry mouth, blurred vision
Mild gastrointestinal discomfort
Increased blood pressure or palpitations (due to phenylephrine)
CNS effects such as dizziness

Precautions

Use with caution in patients with:

Hypertension or cardiovascular disease

Concurrent use with other paracetamol-containing medications
Use with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping them
