Description:

is a modified third-generation topical retinoid primarily used in the treatment of mild-moderate acne, it is called novel retinoid because it has a new chemical structure that make it more tolerable and less skin irritation. It Helps normalize hyperkeratinization and have anti-inflammatory effects. Adagel is a comedolytic agent.

Active Ingredient:

Adapalene 0.1% gel

Mechanism of Action:

Acts within the nucleus of the cell where they bind with receptors called Retinoic Acid Receptors (RAR) to interact with cellular DNA and cause change in gene expression of epithelial cell growth and differentiation.
Adagel is Selective high affinity binding →RARᵦ and RARɣ
  Selectivity of Adapalene gives:

. potent regulation of epithelial cell growth

Indications & Uses:

In the treatment of Acne vulgaris

Dosage & Administration:

- applied on affected area once daily at night

Contraindications & Cautions:

Pregnancy: Category C
Nursing women: Contraindicated because it is unknown if it is excreted in milk or not.
